Your privacy and system security is a priority at every step of our engineering process.

Trust is at the forefront of Nyota. Nyota is built to handle your team's most confidential private conversations, that's why privacy and security are not only important to us, they're literally the core of our application design.

Our guiding principles

  • Your choice: We will not access or use your data unless you opt-in.
  • Transparency: We will make it clear when Nyota is on the meeting and transcribing.
  • Leveling the field: We can't eliminate bad managers or angsty engineers, but we're doing our best to protect the ones that could be hurt by misuse of the information the most.
  • Upfront and straightforward permissioning: We'll always tell you how we'll use your data.

Privacy

Between you and Nyota

  • Call recordings are made through Twilio and deleted right after transcript is processed.
  • Transcripts are obtained by a third party service (AssemblyAI) and automatically deleted on their side once we receive the transcript.
  • By default no one except you and the meeting participants is able to access the transcripts, any conversational data, or notes. Our internal team would need a written permission from you and the participants to access that info. Other data — meta information can be accessed internally according to our Privacy policy.

Between you and your co-workers

  • Transcript access retention: By default access to transcripts gets locked on the application level after 24 hours of the meeting. After that, only the metadata (entities, signals etc) and any notes you take are accessible by you and the participants.

    You can also choose to delete the transcripts entirely. Or to keep them accessible.

    This is done in order to level the playing field — you have time to write down your notes as you normally would, but in most cases you don't need a verbatim of each conversation you had.
  • Off the record feature: You or any of your team members can start speaking "off the record". At this moment, Nyota will not process or store any information said during that part of the conversation.
